Here is another brilliant Sunday dinner! I cooked the beef so it was at medium. Because I think it tastes nicer that way but is up to you. :-D

Ingredients

500g joint of Roast Beef
4-5 Potatoes
Mixed veg
Beef OXO Cube
Wholegrain Mustard
Bisto Beef gravy powder
Bisto stock cube

Method

1. Turn the oven onto 200C and then calculate the time of how long your beef is going to take (mine took 50 mins.) Then put some oil into the bottom of a tray for the potatoes. Then spread the mustard lightly over the beef and then lightly season with salt and pepper.

2. Chop your potatoes into quarters and then peel and chop your parsnips.

3. Put a couple of centimetres of some water into steamer. Then put veg in.

4. Part boil the potatoes for 4-5 mins. Then drain the potatoes, put back into the saucepan and shake, this will roughen up the edges of the potatoes to make them really crispy when roasted. Put potatoes into hot tray  and roast for approximately and hour.

5. Shake 2 shakes of Bisto beef gravy powder into gravy pan and crumble a beef oxo cube into the pan. Fill half full with cold water and then put on the heat and stir until thick. Crumble in a beef stock cube and stir put onto simmer.

6. Put veg on the heat for around ten minutes.

Serve. I loved cooking and eating this dish :)

My family love this dinner, it is so nice to create something and then share it with your family and friends. Nearly every week I do a lovely Sunday dinner. I mainly use potatoes, mixed veg and gravy, and parsnips, to go with the dish and when I do beef I make roast puddings. Have fun! :)

This is a daddy sized portion!

Ingredients...

A whole chicken
Mixed veg
4-5 medium sized potatoes
Parsnips (optional - My mum doesn't like these!)
Bisto gravy granuels

2  chicken oxo cubes
Salt and Pepper to taste

Method...

  1. First turn the oven on to 200C and put some oil into a tray and calculate the time that the chicken will take to cook and add on the time it needs to rest (around 20 minutes)
  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper and 1 crushed oxo cube sprinkled over the top ,put into the oven.
  3. Fill a pot a quarter full with cold water, season with cooking salt, chop potatoes into quarters and put into pot, then put onto boil for 5 mins (part boiling)
  4. While those are cooking, peel and quarter the parsnips then put them in with the potatoes.
  5. Once the oil has been heated put the potatoes and parsnips in to roast for around an hour until crispy (yum!)

While they are cooking...

  6. Put veggies onto to cook for 10 to 20 minutes
  7. Take chicken out of the oven  and leave to rest for 20 minutes

8. Carve chicken and get everything else out and serve.

It will taste delicious and great fun to cook!
